FORD recommends oil change intervals of 15,000 km or 12 months for the MONDEO BA7 1.8 TDCi Diesel. Outside of these intervals, an oil change may also be necessary if the dashboard oil light comes on. What is the best oil to use on my FORD MONDEO BA7 1.8 TDCi?
Here's an example of what Ford recommends for the 2018 diesel powered Ford F-150 oil change interval. Normal conditions: 7,500 - 10,000 miles (1 year) Moderate towing, idling: 5,000 - 7,000 miles (6 months) Heavy towing, extensive idling: 3,000 - 5,000 miles (3 months) Also, Ford explicitly says NOT to exceed 10,000 miles or 1 year of driving
The blanket warmer wraps around the battery to keep it warm from all sides. 3. Deal with Frozen Fuel. In cold temperatures, diesel fuel can freeze or congeal together. In the event this happens, you must warm the fuel and change out the fuel filter before attempting to start the engine.
Basically it ain't going to hurt - can only help, i personally - based on my approx 12>14k miles year - do an oil change every 6 mths. Kwik fit do a complete oil and filter change using proper Zetec oil (refusing to allow me to pay more for the Mobil one stuff :o ) for the price of £34.99. Less than the cost of 5 litres of oil - Bulk buy

Is it simple or complicated to change the oil and filters in a Ford Mondeo Mk5 myself, on my own?! You will find out the answer at the end, after you watc
Reading other posts I understand I have a Getrag Powershift 6DCT450 transmission in my Diesel Estate Mk4 (2008) 2.0 automatic Mondeo in which I have neglected to change the oil. I guess better late than never as it is still working perfectly well. I am not 100% sure which standard of I I need as I have found conflicting information.
So rule is stick with the terms of the warranty in regard to having the vehicle serviced.Which I believe is every 12.5k miles or every twelve months whichever comes first. After the warranty has expired, its really up to you when you have it done. I for instance like yourself do very little annual mileage.
The V-10 is the same engine Ford used in some, not all of their F series trucks and E series vans. So with my Canyon Star I treated it the same. I changed it religiously at the 3,000 to 3,500 mile intervals. It uses the same 5w 20 oil as does the Triton V-8, and the smaller 3.0L V-6. That is a pretty thin oil anyway.
