Ridingstyle. (heavy or light) The 60 TPi will be somewhat more durable and slightly less supple. My D5's are 120TPI but are not as supple as my Bud/Lou, which are also 120TPI. The D5's also feel a little stronger when I am preparing to mount em up. There are differences in tires from different makers even tho' they are, say a 60 TPI.
FYI I emailed them on the weight of the new tires as compared to the old 26x4.0 and here's what they said. "The older 26 x 4.0" 120 TPI weighed 1250g. The newer and larger 26 x 4.2" 120 TPI black wall Van Helga weighs 1450g and the 26 x 4.2" 60 TPI tan wall weighs 1575g"

Whatis the difference between 60 TPI and 120 TPI? The higher 120 TPI casing is lighter, thinner and will be able to better conform to the shape of the terrain. However, the 60 TPI casing is more resistant to puncture, abrasions and cuts. It’s a single 60 TPI (generally) layer mated with an additional layer of abrasion and cut resistant 0EJeM.
