If you stick to the story missions, you can beat Spider-Man: Miles Morales in about 7.5 hours. It's the most cinematic way to play the game, but you will miss cool upgrades and easter eggs by doing so. Every skill you had unlocked prior to NG+ will stay unlocked once you NG+. There is no respec because all of the skills can be obtained just like in MSM (the only difference being that you have to NG+ to unlock the last three skills).

The reason that some upgrades, skills, etc require new game plus is because NGP has a higher level cap and you can't reach that level in a normal game. I might look for a way around the cap eventually. For now, I've removed all NGP requirements as well as level requirements >20.
